Real Brisbane Pool Costs in 2026 — A Builder's Honest Breakdown
Mike DillonPool quotes in Brisbane in 2026 range from about $30,000 to over $100,000 for what looks like the same product on paper. That spread is confusing, and it's why people start their search frustrated.
Here's the honest version of what concrete pools actually cost in 2026, what's driving the prices, and where Wahoo sits in the market.
The four price tiers, roughly
$30K-$45K — Entry concrete pools. Small footprint (under 6×3m), basic equipment, standard finish, modest paving allowance. This is the Plunge to Standard end of the market. Our packages: $35,900 (Plunge 5×3) up to $39,900 (Standard 6×3). Suitable for most courtyards and small yards.
$45K-$60K — Family pools. 6×4m to 8×3m, full Zodiac equipment, integrated spa option, wider paving. Most Brisbane families end up here. Our packages: $44,900 (Family I 6×4) to $53,700 (Entertaining 8×4 / 9×3). Add $11,890 for the integrated spa.
$60K-$80K — Premium and resort. 9×4m to 10×4m, full inclusions, often with spa, decking upgrades, premium finishes. Our top packages run $57,700 to $74,690 depending on size and spa option.
$80K+ — Custom and complex. Sloping sites, suspended structural pools, custom dimensions, premium finishes (full tile, cantilevered edges, infinity edges). We do plenty of these but they're priced individually.
What's actually driving costs in 2026
Compared to 2020-21, our build costs are up roughly 15-25%. Here's where it's gone:
- Concrete and steel: up 18% on average. The biggest single line.
- Trades labour: up 12-15%. Skilled trades remain expensive in SEQ.
- Equipment: Zodiac and other pump/filter prices up 8-10%.
- Compliance and certifier fees: council fees up about 5%.
- Finishes: travertine and bluestone up 10-15% depending on origin.
The cost increases have slowed in the last 12 months. We don't expect dramatic shifts in 2026.
Where the spread between quotes comes from
Three quotes for what sounds like the same pool can land $20K apart. The reasons are usually:
- What's actually included (turnkey definitions vary wildly)
- The spec of the equipment (basic pump vs Zodiac variable-speed)
- The thickness of the shell (some builders go below 200mm)
- The quality of the finishes (cheap travertine vs proper Italian)
- The depth of the warranty (12-month structural is not the same as 10-year)
Our advice: don't compare headline prices. Compare line items.
Where Wahoo sits
We're not the cheapest. We're not the most expensive. We sit in the middle of the Brisbane market for what we deliver — full Zodiac equipment, 200mm shell, real engineering, 10-year warranty, and a turnkey definition that actually means turnkey.
Some clients save $5K-$10K by going to a smaller operator. Some pay $10K-$20K more for big-brand marketing. Both can be reasonable choices. We've held our pricing steady because we'd rather build pools we're proud of than chase volume at the bottom or premium margins at the top.
