What's Actually Included in a Wahoo Turnkey Package
Mike DillonTurnkey is one of those words that means whatever the company saying it wants it to mean. Some 'turnkey' pool quotes leave you with a hole, a shell, and a $15K paving bill you didn't see coming.
Here's what we actually include in a Wahoo turnkey package — written out so there's no confusion later. This applies to every pool in our standard range, from the $35,900 Plunge to the $62,800 Grand.
The pool itself
- Site survey and detailed design
- Building approval and council fees
- Engineer-certified structural design
- Excavation (standard access)
- 200mm minimum reinforced concrete shell
- Coloured pebble-crete interior finish (your choice from our standard range)
- Quad-lid skimmer box flush-mounted in the surround
- Inlet and return jets, all plumbing
Equipment (Zodiac & Waterco)
- Zodiac variable-speed pump
- Zodiac cartridge filter
- Salt chlorinator
- Three or more flush-mounted LED lights
- All electrical to the pool — switchboard upgrade if required
- 10-year manufacturer warranty on equipment
Coping and paving
- Coping in your choice of travertine, bluestone, or concrete pavers
- Surrounding paving — up to 12m² included as standard, more available on request
Fencing
- Compliant pool barrier in frameless glass or aluminium (your choice)
- Compliance certificate from a licensed certifier
Handover
- First fill of water
- Initial chemical balance (Travis comes out and gets it right)
- Equipment walkthrough and user manuals
- Warranty documentation
- 30-day callback service for any issues
What's not included (and why)
We're upfront about the things that aren't in standard turnkey, because they vary too much between sites:
- Extended decking — anything beyond the 12m² of paving included. Most clients want a bit more to integrate with the back deck. We quote it as a separate line.
- Landscaping — gardens, plants, retaining walls, irrigation. Not our trade, and pricing varies wildly.
- Heating — gas heater, electric heat pump, or solar. We can quote and install, but it's a client decision because it adds $4K-$12K.
- Pool covers — manual or automatic. Covers and roller systems are quoted separately.
- Difficult access surcharges — if we need to crane materials over the house, that's a separate cost we identify at site visit.
- Sloping site engineering — additional retaining walls, deeper footings on steep blocks.
Why we itemise it this way
Two reasons. First, transparency. You should know exactly what your money is buying. Second, no nasty surprises at week 8 when you find out the fence wasn't included.
We've seen too many clients come to us after a half-finished build with another company, holding a quote that hid the costs in fine print. We don't do that. The quote you sign is the quote you pay, plus or minus any changes you specifically ask for.
If you want to compare
Get a quote from us and from anyone else you're considering. Lay them side by side. Ask about every line. The comparison usually answers itself.
