Bulimba is one of Brisbane's most distinctive suburbs — character cottages, the river right there, Oxford Street cafes a short walk away. The blocks are mostly long-and-narrow (400–700m²), and a fair number sit within the Bulimba Creek flood overlay. That sounds scary but rarely changes much for pool builds — it just means we need engineered flood-level documentation in the submission.
Soil profile is usually sandy loam near the river (easy to excavate, good drainage) shifting to clay as you head further from the water. Side access on narrow blocks is the real planning challenge — we've squeezed mini-excavators through 750mm gates more times than we can count.
The character cottage overlay can also apply on some Bulimba streets. We handle the design submissions and BCC liaison so your build feels easy from your end.

Plunge and courtyard pools by Wahoo — designed for compact blocks, inner-city lots, and townhouse rear yards across Brisbane and South-East Queensland.
Wahoo's plunge pool packages are the right choice when block size, inner-city access, or townhouse geometry constrains the build. Both packages are full Wahoo specification — not stripped-back "cheap pools." They are complete Wahoo builds at smaller proportions, with the same standard inclusions as our larger packages.

Plunge & Courtyard Pools work best on blocks 300–500m² — inner-city character cottages, modern townhouse rear yards, courtyard infill blocks, and constrained heritage-overlay sites where larger pool packages don't physically fit.

Where these pools fit best
Plunge pools work especially well in Brisbane's inner-east (Bulimba, Bardon, Camp Hill), inner-Redland small blocks, and Gold Coast canal townhouse properties. Most plunge pool builds in our service area can be excavated through standard side-gate access. For genuinely narrow inner-city blocks, our crane-and-skid access method handles excavation where a truck won't fit — the 5×3 size makes this practical.
Customisation and limitations
Both plunge pool packages can be customised with steps, hydrotherapy benches, and integrated heating. Spa upgrades are not available on the smallest two packages — for an integrated 2×2 spa, see our Family Pools or larger.
